A Bloomberg report said TikTok is in talks with local company GoTo to invest in its e-commerce sector Tokopedia in a deal that is expected to close as early as this month. The government of the Southeast Asian country has said apps such as TikTok hurt its bricks-and-mortar shopping businesses by encouraging people to buy online.
