According to a Netflix press release, Elwes will play the "handsome, slick, and sleazy" Mayor Kline; a “classic ’80s politician — more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.”
Intriguing, and certainly a description fitting of the Season's de facto villain – apart from the looming Shadow Monster, of course.
Elwes, like Sean Astin and Paul Reiser in Season 2, joins the show as a famous alum of a popular '80s film. Busey will play a local journalist with "questionable morals and a sick sense of humor."
Something tells us that might not play well with Mayor Kline – alternately, the two could join forces to discredit Will Byers and his friends while they try to save their town from the Upside Down.
